It may be that audiophile gear is more revealing of cable differences 
because it's more sensitive to cable differences, because a lot of 
audiophile gear is *unbalanced*. Almost all pro gear is balanced, and my 
experience has been that balanced connections show fewer differences 
between cables than unbalanced. They do show up dirty connectors, though.
