Don't get riled by their aggressive marketing. You don't need to "upgrade." There are many 
documented problems with Win10 right now. Let it evolve. Corey Bailey's idea of swapping in a cloned 
C drive, upgrading it and then putting it on a shelf is viable and smart, if you're technically 
adept enough to do it. Win8 is well documented as being disliked by users. Win8.1 apparently 
restored much of the Win7 user experience and seems better liked. I don't have anything running any 
OS beyond Win7 right now. I still prefer XP user experience, but Microsoft abandoned it. Many 
routine tasks take more actions to complete in Win7. I also hate the new versions of Office and 
Outlook. I resent that a perfectly good user interface was radically changed, with no option to keep 
the familiar. In general, I'm supportive of improving and speeding up the guts of software, as 
opposed to feature-bloat and other typical "upgrade paths." I very much dislike when a user 
interface is radically altered, it creates a giant time-suck for those used to working efficiently 
in the old interface. Tech people seem to feel a need to reinvent the wheel every few years, which 
is very annoying to people like me who view these things as balky tools that need to be used 
efficiently in order for time to equal money. How many times have you needed to re-learn how to use 
a hammer, screw-driver or tape machine?
