The 2016 deadline for Preservation Assistance Grants is May 3, 2016, and it's already time to start planning your project.
Preservation Assistance Grants provide up to $6,000 for small and mid-sized institutions such as libraries, museums, historical societies, archival repositories, cultural organizations, town and county records offices, and colleges and universities, to improve collections care within their organization. Activities may include activities including preservation assessments, purchase of storage furniture, preservation supplies, and environmental monitoring equipment, education and training, and more. Look for the 2016 guidelines here http://www.neh.gov/grants/preservation/preservation-assistance-grants-smaller-institutions and the 2015 guidelines on that page can help you get started with planning your project now.
