Is your setup the stock Thorens TD 190-2 one? If so, I believe that it
comes with an Ortofon OMB 10 cartridge. Ortofon seems to offer a 78 stylus
for this cartridge called "stylus 78". According to Ortofon's specs on
their website the "stylus 78" can track up to 2.25 grams. This may not be
heavy enough for Victrola's. Hopefully someone else can comment on that.
Also, the stock arm on the Thorens TD 190-2 appears to be a tp19 whose
tracking force is up to 3 grams- again, perhaps not enough?
Outside of tracking force, you will also need to consider the stylus tip
