According to the RSC’s February 2016 Fast Track doc, RDA 9.7 (Gender) instructions will point to unnamed external vocabularies, a la Language of the Person (RDA 9.14), in lieu of prescribing their own as they have since RDA was first published. But reading through the just-issued LC-PCC PS and DCM Z1 updates, I find no comment either on the disappearing terms or on any alternative sources for them like those listed on the MARC Source Codes site. The wording in the DCM Z1, in fact, still presumes RDA is supplying the terminology.
Will the PCC offer any formal (interim) guidelines on 9.7 for NACO catalogers before or soon after next Tuesday’s RDA release?
