Apple totally dominates the market among web developers and related coding
professionals for that exact reason: many of the software platforms used by
modern web technology that came from the Unix/Linux world are extremely
painful if not impossible to run on Windows, but run almost effortlessly on
Mac (because it's really just Unix under the hood).
Microsoft is playing big-time "catch-up" in this area:
