I’m expecting to move to NYC sometime in the next two years and am looking to dispose of my record collection. I’d love to get money, but I’m mostly concerned about not having them all just go to a dumpster. I can’t afford to give money for upkeep and cataloguing to an institution that might take it.

Collection is almost entirely classical LPs (some folk), about 24 linear feet, bought from about 1955 on (mostly new) and reasonably carefully played, plus a few inherited from my parents. Heavy emphasis on German romantics (probably about 30% Wagner). Mostly American, but some European (including Eastern European Furtwängler and fakes). Some pirate recordings (first RAI Ring, Toscanini Society, Beecham Society). Most but I think not all are now available on CD. Located in West Hartford, CT.

I’d love to have any suggestions — ping me off list. If there’s serious interest, just about everything bought before 1975 is catalogued (by an amateur, me) and I could ship the 3 or 4 boxes of file cards for inspection.
