Thanks, Clark, for the link to your article. I haven’t spent much time with
hifi magazines, so it’s an interesting perspective. I definitely should have
included, as you did, a link to Tim Gracyk’s article about the magazine -

Thanks Steve et al. for the additional information on R.D. Darrell. You may
be interested to know that LC holds Darrell’s papers. They’re not yet fully
processed, but include his card catalog, correspondence, journals, etc.
Here’s the catalog record - https://lccn.loc.gov/2016570599
Iñigo, if you click ‘Phonograph Monthly Review’ under ‘Topics’ while looking
at any issue, then sort by date archived, it should pull up the complete
list. This is where the Media History Digital Library really shines. We’re
still working to link our resources with their platform, but it should be up
soon. The large file size is the trade off for the high image quality, but I
thought it was warranted in this case. I don't know if there is a public
index to Gramophone, but they do maintain a subscription web archive of all
back issues. It used to be free at Gramophone.net, but it was paywalled in 2012.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
