My experience was with two-inch quad video tapes, similar, but not the
same. 49C for 24 hours usually did the trick. Sometimes some slight
adhesion between layers (you could hear some popping from the wind), but
they all played just fine, even a handful of tapes with an actual
manufacturing defect that shed like mad.
