The GHE is going to do its yearly password update this Wednesday January 4 starting at 9:00 a.m. If all goes well the process should take under an hour.
We will need all GHE users to close out of any ArcGIS suite tools prior to 9:00 a.m. on the 4th. So, if you're leaving for the day on Tuesday you should close out your tools at that time if you're not planning on doing any ArcGIS work before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Oracle DBA group will update the passwords and supply them to the GHE. The GHE will then create new SDE files and will place them on the GHE servers for distribution.
Once the password process is complete the next time a user opens an ArcGIS tool they will receive the updated SDE files and all should be well.
Note: All users will need to update their older .MXD files using the procedure in the attached document as soon as the password process has been completed. This is imperative in order to avoid locking the databases.
