Hi Paul,
Playback Equalizer Settings for 78 RPM Recordings by Powell and Stehle has about 15 entries for the Melotone label. For Dec. 1935 he says 500 Hz/-5 dB a 10 kHz. For 1936 and 1937 he says 500/-8.5. He has nothing past 1937, so that may be the last year for that label.
This book is still available from Kurt Nauck:

Both Internet Explorer and Firefox are telling me that there's a problem with this web site's security certificate, and are advising me not to advance to his Resources page. Kurt - if you're on this list, can you check into this (I'm copying him on this)? I've never had a problem with this site in the past.
Best,
Gary

...can anyone suggest good starting points for the compensation curve on an American Record Company (Melotone) disc, recorded 1935 and issued 1936?
Peace,
Paul
