Yes I read that article, but it was mainly about rolloff not turnover.  I get your point on rolloff but need some help with the turnover.  I have a suspicion but would like someone knowledgeable to comment, you are that man !

So 500Hz turnover is +3dB at 500Hz relative to 1Khz right ?

So what is the often quoted 1,000Hz turnover measured against ?  And of course 800Hz ?
