Camp Foster Library is the Main Library of the Camp Butler Library System, which includes a Library Processing Center, 8 Branches (Okinawa, Mainland Japan and Korea), 2 Reading Rooms and a Joint Forces Brig Library. The Camp Foster Library Director will be responsible for the Main Library and the MCAS Futenma Branch Library (10 minute drive) and a staff of 12 including 7 Local National personnel. Camp Foster Library, a DoD Premier Library, is a 20,000 square foot library offering an abundance of programming for all ages as well as a Makerspace Innovation Lab. The Art Connections Gallery is located in the Camp Foster Library and offers monthly exhibits of paintings, prints, photography, ceramics and textiles.

Foster and Futenma Libraries will be undergoing a renovation and conversion from the Dewey Decimal System to a Bookstore model of non-fiction classification within the next several years.

This position is an overseas assignment tour of duty which may include Transportation Agreement, Living Quarters Allowance (LQA), Post Allowance, Environmental Morale Leave (EML) and Home Leave.
