Oh boy ... what a can of worms in re partnerships and organization ... a practical suggestion is that you apply as one organization for funds and make your partner a participant in the grant ... It sounds as if each of you maintains separate funds any way ...

Hi all,

In Washington State this year we are changing how our CFB is organized. We have moved to a partnership between the Seattle Public Library and the Washington State Library. My partner at SPL, Linda Johns and I have all sorts of ideas we want to implement but there is of course the problem of funding. We would like to apply for grants or get donations but we've run into complications because we are not ONE but two different organizations. Both entities have funding arms but both say it is too complicated to accept funds when there's another organization involved. I spoke today with the person who manages ours and she suggested finding out if there were any models in other states. So now my question.

Do any of your states have a CFB program which has a partnership between two or more orgs? And if so do you have any way to accept donations from an outside source or to apply for grants? I sure would appreciate your help sorting this out if you're willing to talk on the phone or have an online meeting with Linda and I.

Thanks in advance.
