Hello all,
I am happy to announce a 3-year, funded, entry-level position in the NYPL
Audio and Moving Image (AMI) Preservation Program. The initial focus of the
NYPL AMI Initiative, focusing on preservation and digitization of magnetic
and optical media, is fully underway. This spring, we will be initiating
the film stream, beginning with item-level characterization and assessment
of the film elements held in the NYPL special collections.
Primary activities include:
- Perform item-level condition assessment and characteristics
identification of film holdings within the NYPL special collections.
- Perform quality control on digital assets created through audio,
video, and film digitization (vendor and in-house production).
- Assist with project coordination, specification development, workflow
development, and additional assessment/inventory activities as needed as
the program continues to evolve.
