SPECS BROS., LLC is a women-owned company and is listed as such with the
government.

We do audio restoration and digitization as well as video. We also do
disaster recovery work on magnetic tape. We've been around since 1983 and
have processed hundreds of thousands of tapes. In addition to our own
clients, we are also frequently the go-to laboratory for other digitization
facilities when they have tapes that they either can't or don't want to
process due to the tapes' condition.

We have around 50 testing/cleaning machines for a wide variety of tape
formats, around 30 additional "rigs" for specialized restoration issues and,
to the best of my knowledge, have the only Standard Audio Cassette cleaning
equipment in the US.

Hello,

Do you know of any minority- and/or women-owned vendors who provide
standards-compliant audiovisual digitization services?

I'd be glad if this inquiry sparked some dialogue, but I'm also hoping for
an answer to this specific question. We're working on a digitization grant
proposal, and our campus partners posed this question to me. I did not know
of any, but don't purport to know everything and would be glad to know if
any such companies exist. The collection we're working with is audio (common
formats), but I'd be glad to learn about minority- and/or women-owned
vendors that provide standards-compliant digitization services for other
types of material as well.

I'll be posting this inquiry on several lists, so please forgive the
duplication.
