Just to give you more data:
I use a Nakamichi MR-1 for those clients that just have to have their
cassettes transferred on a Nak. For those that aren't that picky, I will
use a JVC DD-66 which is a 3 head deck with specs as good as any
Nakamichi. The one feature that most Nakamichi's have that most others
don't is the felt pad lifting feature. It's worth noting that any tape
recorder from the 1980's will have both the logic and audio amplifier
design from that era. Generally not a problem with the audio path but
the logic chips are most often unobtainium, rendering the machine useless.
