Well of course I'm in the UK and I occasionally write for the UK newsstand magazine HiFi World that you can buy right now in any Barnes & Noble,.and they too have reviewed the Oppo.  But ask the man in the street, or the Blu Ray salesman in Best Buy ?  I have retailer accounts with Panasonic, Onkyo, Klipsch, Denon, Marantz and many others and trust me, Oppo is unheard of by most.  Of course I could be wrong, but when I replaced my SACD player and my 4K player last year, I never even considered Oppo.  

Here in the UK we have Sony Centres and Panasonic Shops as well as a major retailer Currys, none stock Oppo.  I don't dispute their performance just saying how I see it here in the UK.

I don't know what circles you travel in, but over here Oppo players are very popular. Over the years I've reviewed 5 of them for audioXpress, and owned four. I currently have the UDP-205 in my system. Their players have had consistently outstanding audio and video quality, and that's not just my opinion. Stereophile and Absolute Sound have consistently given them their highest recommendations, as have the many smaller A/V magazines. So, now you know at least one person who's been an Oppo user for years.

I believe they had a very small market share.  Marantz made beter SACD/CD players, Panasonic did a better 4K player IMHO.  I don't know of anyone using Oppo.
