Dear Thomas Stern:
Two libraries own a ten record set, ASRD 101 – ASRD 110, with the title *Living
Theatre in Hi-Fi*.
The contents note matches your list.
Cataloguing for single issues of these records include the description
“Dramatic
adaptation for radio.” The subject heading assigned is *Radio Plays*.
In the January 18-31, 1965 issue of the KPFK program folio, the following
listing appears:
10:15 THE QUEEN OF SPADES: Alexander Pushkin's story, with Orson Welles in
the lead. The recording says this was produced by "The American Society of
Recorded Drama," but to us it sounds suspiciously like a "Black Museum"
program cribbed off KHJ. (JAN 28)
It seems likely that all of this series is taken from radio broadcasts.
