I need help. Both my daughter Leah and I need new computers, but the ones we selected arrived defective, and Hewlett-Packard seem unable to solve the problem. We need to be able to record and edit both audio and video, so we selected a computer with 16 GB memory (upgradable to 32), 1TB harddrive for data, and 128GB solid state for operating, and had 10 USB ports. But it doesn’t see any CDs or DVDs that are inserted in the drive until a totally unconnected action is taken — inserting OR REMOVING a SD card from the card reader. Otherwise it says no disk is in the drive. HP customer service remotely operated the first one and then the replacement, made all sorts of changes to the options for an hour on the first and a half hour on the second, and they were unable to get either to work. Now they want us to PAY for their “Concerned Group” to work on a one day old computer. I’ve had enough.
What computers do you people use and recommend?
