Hello,

My name is Byrd McDaniel, and I received a research grant from the ARSC back in 2015, which allowed me to travel to the Center for Popular Music at Middle Tennessee State University. I wrote an article based in part on my findings there, and the article will be published in American Quarterly this coming December (Volume 70, Number 4). The article is titled: “Air Apparent: Amplifying the History of Air Guitar, Air Bands, and Air Playing in the 20th Century.”

I just wanted to let you know and express gratitude to your organization for the support. Admittedly, the article analyzes a somewhat unconventional topic, and I’m grateful that the ARSC gave me the opportunity to pursue that research.
