Subject: Re: [ARSCLIST] ARSC Facebook Group?
Speaking of walled gardens, the ARSC FB page (which is basically a one-way platform) has 2,492 followers. ARSC has less than 1,000 members. Kudos to the ARSC volunteers who post interesting content there which attracts all sorts of people, some of whom may go on to join ARSC or join our profession(s). This listserv only has 1,073 subscribers. I don’t see a lot of our younger members posting here. Maybe we should only have a Usenet group since that is the only “pure” form of communication on the Internet?

Any use of FB by ARSC should not replicate or draw members away from the discussion platforms (listservs and blog) already in use.
