I raised this in the Archive Forums at:
https://archive.org/post/1095214/unplayable-uploads
As you will read - one Jeff Kaplan responded but seemed to ignore my concerns.
So thanks to Brewster here for being more informative.
OK - so Archive is developing an OTR Archive. But the uploads are not
available for downloading or playing.
However the annoying issues are that 1/ there is no warning of these,
and 2/ the uploads swamp the results of a search making those results
difficult to assess.
There is a third issue I thought that radio programmes were copyright
certainly those owned by the BBC. Has the BBC OK'd the uploading of so
many (thousands?) or their programmes? Many OTR sites have received
take-down or 'cease & desist' notices from the Beeb.
CJB.
