I've only had a cursory look at it so far but I recently acquired a 2340 as
part of a deal to transfer a musician's home studio recordings, and
interestingly the Teac also has problems specifically in the repro chains.
There is no trouble with service information as the 2340 Service Manual is
quite detailed and is available on "Hi Fi engine". Alss I recall, the 2340
uses all discrete transistors in the audio paths so there shouldnt be any
problems sourcing parts. Almost certainly the problems are electrolytic cap
or transistor related, all probably inexpensive and freely available parts.

However, a downside of the machine is that the circuit boards are not
unpluggable types but hard wired in, and fitted into a cramped space, so
removing and refitting the relevent boards could be messy and very time
consuming. It wouldnt be a job I'd necessarily warm to...
