Hi Allison --

I second Rosie's statements. Having worked with a Ripstation at LC years
back, I found the product to be dependable and consistent for large batches
of optical discs. Be prepared to have a backup drive to test discs that the
Ripstation rejects (it will reject some or get stuck trying read TOCs for
certain discs). I can't remember the percentage exactly, but it might have
been close to 5% of discs in our batches would need a second pass through a
different optical disc player to successfully extract the content. And some
smaller percent yielded total failure because the TOC couldn't be read to
initiate the file system on the disc.

It's been a while, but I remember this article by Alexander Duryee on
optical media preservation was a good read to offer tidbits to keep in mind
during the process:
https://www.weareavp.com/an-introduction-to-optical-media-preservation/

Best of luck with the project!

- Bert
