Hi Richard,
Thank you for the clarification. I use iZotope RX, but don't have RX7 so I just looked at the
brief description on the their web site, which does not mention the settings to which you refer.
As a footnote, I have an inexpensive Mac-only program called TwistedWave, which shows
pitch adjustments in cents (-17.33¢) as well as the percentage (99.0039%), one cent being .083%.
Hi, Doug and Steven,
In RX7, there are three different modules:
Time & Pitch
Variable Pitch
Variable Time
All of these use the Radius algorithms, but Variable Pitch appears to
only use it if the "Preserve Time" box is checked, otherwise it appears
to use resampling and pitch and time are changed together. I no longer
have RX6 installed, so I cannot compare.
I am making the request that the cents option be considered in future
versions.
I briefly installed (and then uninstalled) Diamond Cut 8 which I
recalled as having an interesting pitch control, but it is in percent,
neither semitones nor cents. It's spline curves are interesting, but the
smoothing option in RX7 is also interesting. Samplitude's Elastic Audio
is similar, has a larger screen, but no cents display. It offers a
"Resample" algorithm option.
Cheers,
Richard
