About the Position: Serves as senior manager of the Army University Library Enterprise System with primary responsibility for the development, execution, operation, sustainment and ongoing technical evolution of the ArmyU-LES consisting of 13 professionally staffed libraries which house scientific, scholarly, technical and administrative reference collections. Coordinates, monitors, reviews and evaluates library services (including copyright and electronic data management) for the ArmyU-LED.
Responsibilities
?Serves as senior manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of major library projects.
?Responsible for the research, development, implementation and management of technology based library initiatives by participating in and/or directing the efforts of the Army University Library Enterprise Division (ArmyU-LED).
?Coordinates procurement, testing and implementation of new systems and products or the enhancements to current systems , recommend purchases, install enterprise-level equipments, and coordinate for software upgrades.
?Manages and oversees project execution and develops complex testing procedures for new acquisitions and ensures that adequate testing is accomplished to support the evaluation and acceptance process.
?Responsible for providing/assisting in the development, editing, updating and maintenance of the ArmyU Libraries web pages and web-based presentations.
?Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation in accordance with agency, major command, and TRADOC libraries requirements.
?Brief the Army University staff, TRADOC Libraries staff, and TRADOC Centers/Schools leadership.
?Plan, schedule, assign, prioritize, explain, review, and evaluate work performed by assigned personnel.
?Develops performance standards and conducts employee appraisals; writes job descriptions; and resolves staffing issues and effects minor disciplinary action.
?Represent the ArmyU LES office in meetings with contractors, vendors, customer support personnel, IT professionals, and staff of other academic and federal libraries to coordinate work and resolve problems.
