You will serve as a Supervisory Librarian in the Reference and Readers'
Service Section of the Navy Department Library, a branch of the NAVAL
AND HERITAGE COMMAND (NHHC).
.You will provide supervision, guidance, and direction to reference
and library support staff regarding all matters of reference and readers?
.You will write position descriptions, staff performance evaluations, and
ensure timely and efficient procedures for providing reference assistance
NHHC website content development to clientele.
.You will provide comprehensive reference, research, advisory, evaluative,
instructional services to individuals and groups in support of the library's
.You will perform online searching in commercial and worldwide web
.You will develop, format, and ensure accuracy and integrity of the
website and social media pages.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must
demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to
the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent
experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must
demonstrate the following: 1) providing technical oversight of a library's
scientific and/or technical information retrieval and archival system to
support operations; 2) selecting and acquiring publications and computerized
databases for addition, removal, and updating; 3) indexing, cataloging, and
classifying library materials and references; 4) performing reference work
literature searches for internal and external clientele; 5) coordinating
program planning needs for an organization by contributing inputs to plans,
budgets, and schedules; and 6) coordinating and/or assigning work
to subordinates, based on organizational priorities, selective consideration
difficulty, and requirements of assignments, and/or capabilities of
