The stuff has to be removes. I use Disc Doctor- but check with him forhis suggested process, etc., as I use my own.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Cleaning exudation on cracked glass lacquers
Hello all,
Writing to see if anyone would be willing to share their experiences cleaning plasticizer exudation off of cracked and/or broken glass-based lacquer discs.
Feel free to respond here or write to me off-list as well. Depending on how things go, I might request as phone/Skype follow up. I need to make headway on this topic within the next couple of weeks so time is a factor.
[NOTE: There is a thread about this on IASA-list as well. No need to double-post if you already entered the conversation there.]
Thanks very much,
Brandon
