The stuff has to be removes. I use Disc Doctor- but check with him forhis suggested process, etc., as I use my own.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Cleaning exudation on cracked glass lacquers
Writing to see if anyone would be willing to share their experiences cleaning plasticizer exudation off of cracked and/or broken glass-based lacquer discs.
