The AMIA Field Survey is intended to gather data from those working in and closely with moving image archives to study factors impacting compensation and professional development. The survey was developed in response to interest in salary data about the archives profession and, in particular, media archivists and people in related fields whose primary work is with audiovisual materials.
The survey will also gather data on age, race/ethnicity, sexual identity, level of education, years of professional experience, and other factors to examine how they might interact to affect salary, employment, and professional advancement.
The Survey was developed in coordination with the National Film Preservation Board’s Diversity Task Force. The Task Force will use the data in an upcoming report on diversity, equity and inclusion the moving image archive field.
Anyone working in and with the media archives field is encouraged to respond. Please encourage your colleagues to take the survey, too!
Survey summary results will be available for download from the AMIA website. All survey responses are anonymous.
Only summary results will be published.
The survey is estimated to take eight minutes to complete.
