The Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) Technical Services Education special interest group (SIG) seeks proposals for its session at the 2020 ALISE Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, PA (October 20-23, 2020). To align its session with the ALISE Annual Conference theme of “Transforming LIS Education in an Interconnected World,” the Technical Services Education SIG will host a panel presentation on transformations in technical services education.
Suggestions for topics include:
--Educating students on advocacy and its role in technical services
--Metadata consulting services
--Critical approaches to subject/classification practices
--Innovations in technical services pedagogy
If you are interested in submitting a proposal and can attend the 2020 ALISE conference, please email your 200-300 word proposal, title, and contact information to the current Technical Services Education SIG co-conveners by Tuesday, March 10, 2020:
