Yes, the hotel agreed to return $30K to ARSC immediately and also to waive obligation to the remainder of the $70K contract. We made a strong case but the hotel was quite gracious. --Nathan

Subject: ARSC 2020 in Montreal is cancelled
The Association for Recorded Sound Collections regrets to announce it has cancelled without penalty its 54th annual meeting and conference in Montréal, Québec in May 2020.
The Board of Directors has decided not to reschedule the conference in 2020. ARSC will reconvene in Spring 2021 in a location to be determined.
Please cancel any hotel or travel reservations. ARSC will issue full refunds for conference and workshop registrations. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Please stay tuned for an announcement from the association about operations in the coming year.
Be safe and be well!
