I'm glad Kurt Nauck's letter was published in the Journal, and the editor owes
no one an apology for doing so. On the contrary, shutting down divergent
opinions would not reflect well on the Association. And in that vein, there were
some participants here who came pretty damned close to calling Mr. Nauck a
bigot for daring to express an opinion divergent from the orthodoxy. I find that
uncivil reaction the most disturbing part of this whole affair. It definitely will shut
down frank conversation on controversial topics in the future, and that is a real
shame.
