I have known Rex for many years. He could be called a musicologist, but he is also a performer and perhaps the most informed individual when it comes to the pianola and the reproducing piano. Rex, with his compatriot, Denis Hall, have accomplished great things like...doing the Grieg Concerto at the Proms with the Grainger rolls. One of my favorite accomplishments of his was when he punched (every note) of the Rachmaninoff 3rd Concerto and did it on the pianola with orchestra. They publish the Pianola Journal, give concerts, lectures, demonstrations, etc. I have released a Chaminade disc done by Denis. If you write Rex, you can ask him how is Denis doing on the Scriabin.

Hello and thank you..
Is Mr. Lawson a musicologist?
I know him from the world of piano rolls.
He's recorded some Stravinsky piano rolls on CD which I have.
I don't think these rolls were ever published, but I can't be sure.
I never thought to ask him, but that's a good idea, but I don't have his
email.
If you would like to do it, that's fine with me. I appreciate it.
Thank you again.
Regards,
Ben
