For me the biggest issue is why the DAHR is still requiring an outdated
player. Looking for cylinders on the UCSB site, one is presented with an
obvious option to download (although this is the message I get when
attempting to do so from their homepage today: This XML file does not appear
to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown
below.") First time I've run into that, so I'll give 'em a pass today.)
Otherwise, you get an mp3 file which is opened with most any common player
today.
If they're offering an audio file that they have linked from UCSB, the DAHR
site offers no such option to download, unless, of course, I'm missing the
secret handshake, which is certainly possible, but otherwise old Flash
Player is the only option. Am I missing something?

VLC player <http://www.videolan.org/>, the swiss army knife of video file
playback, will play swf, as well as earlier flash files.
