Hi Rodger,
Not sure about the lifespan of mold infested record jackets that were
treated with vinegar. Any mold remediation that was done, was on
customer materials that were returned to the customer with the digital
files if a transfer was involved. Perhaps the best thing to do is buy a
used record simply for the jacket. This has been the recommendation for
those jackets that were too far gone to save and the client wanted to
keep the disc for whatever reason.
Mold remediation is nasty business and I hope I've seen the last of it.
One thing that I did was to expose the moldy media to UV light for a
couple of hours in order to drive the surface mold into dormancy before
starting any remediation. Direct sunlight will work as long as the
objects in question are checked routinely and not allowed to overheat..
Obviously, vinyl records are not placed in the hot sun.
Cheers!
