Hello ARSC folks,
I am working with BAVC Preservation Director Morgan Morel on a new research project, as part of my MLIS studies at San José State University.
We’re looking at common workflows and practices for describing the content of audiovisual media. We have created a survey to collect information about the who, when, where, and how of content description, and seek responses from a range of archives, collections, and community organizations. Ultimately we are exploring possible ways to increase the quantity and quality of content description.
I encourage those working with audiovisual media to take the survey of 26 questions; the estimated time to complete will vary depending on the level of detail you are able to provide. The survey link is below:

Please feel free to circulate this message and the survey link to colleagues who work with AV media at organizations large and small.
Participation is voluntary and all responses will remain anonymous. The resulting report will be shared with respondents who request a copy, and may be otherwise disseminated.
Reach out to either Morgan ([log in to unmask]) or myself with any questions. Many thanks for your time and attention!
Best,
Monica Nolan
