Those are neat recordings! Did you know about that label prior?
Actually, my great-grandfather was around in the '20s. About the time that this record was made, he was already active in a band. On the other hand, this doesn't sound much like him. I don't know much about American accents and how those shifted, but, it could be him. It could certainly be his friend, Bill White, who I never heard or saw. Both were playing banjo in a duo by that time. In the early 1930s, Caleb and him visited the NBC recording studio in New York to visit Caleb's Father, who was a vice president there. He tested their voices' "register" for radio, and the friend, Bill, did better I guess...go figure!
According to my grandfather, Bill went solo soon after that, traveling throughout Europe. No clue what happened then.
