Hello all,
I’m new to this group and this is my first post. Apologies if my request is inappropriate for this space.
I’m an archival researcher for documentaries and I’m working on a documentary based on Lady Bird Johnson’s audio diaries that were release some years ago.
I’m looking for some radio news on certain events during LBJ and her time in the White House, but I’m not having much luck going directly to some of the radio stations.
Most likely because the period of things I am looking for are from 1963-1968. Here are some topics I’m looking for:
1. Reporting of Lady Bird Visit to Tuscaloosa on June 9, 1964
2. Reporting of Eartha Kitt’s visit to the White House Do-er’s Luncheon, Jan 18, 1968
3. LBJ returns to Austin after Inauguration, Jan 20, 1969
I’ve also reached out to The American Radio Archives and The Museum of Broadcast Communications as well, but I’m wondering if there is a rock that I have missed. I’ve been able to find footage, but since it was shot on film, most of the film is silent and we would really like some audio to make the footage come alive.
Any leads would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
