The CBS wartime broadcasts were recorded by KIRO and are catalogued in the book History in Sound and are available through the National Archives. Murrow did not broadcast live from a bomber. The Orchestrated Hell broadcast was done live after the flight.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] MURROW FIRST LIVE
I'm in search of a recording by Ed Murrow purportedly made from an airplane "a few days before D-Day."
It supposedly was the first LIVE report to CBS from the war theater.
Can anyone on the list be of assistance? Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
