Dear All Members of the ARSC Listserve,
The *ARSC Journa*l is looking to expand the number of reviewers interested
in all types of sound recordings. Typically, *music* recording reviews
must be about recordings that are at least 20 years old, even if they were
first issued (or reissued) recently. Given that other sound
recordings -- *audiobooks,
field recordings, works by sound artists* -- may not fit neatly into the 35
year requirement, reviews of more recent recordings of those types are also
welcome.
In regard to qualifications... be passionate about sound and recordings,
have knowledge about a subject in terms of its historical or cultural value
and, if relevant, be able to comment on the qualities of a recording.
To get an idea of the kinds of recordings that could be reviewed, please
see here

Of course, reviews of classical, operatic, and stage/screen continue to be
appreciated, as are reviews of recordings from all parts of the world,
irrespective of genre.
Finally, ARSC membership is not required to be a reviewer. In other words,
if you know of someone interested in writing, please pass the message along.
For questions (or ideas), write to the *Journal* sound recording reviews
editor, Lars Meyer ([log in to unmask])
With my regards,
Christopher C. King
