Hi Hugh, It might be worth telling a vendor you want the 60 tapes digitised and ask if they are prepared, for free or a nominal charge, to digitize just one of the tapes or part of it as an example of their work, then to return both cassette and digital copy to you for assessment. I'd send them a recording of least importance in the collection of 60. As we say "the proof of the pudding..."

Who does audio cassette tape digitization these days? I'm in the USA, I have a project with 60 hours of tapes (60 tapes, 60 min each).
I'm looking for bids or to better understand what info might be needed to make informed bids.
