Indeed it would be impossible to second guess how the Mahler Welte rolls
would compare to what he did when conducting. The transfers done by Ken
Caswell, who did the Debussy, Ravel, Scriabin transfers for my label,
received praise from de La Grange. As I recall he said something like Ken's
transfers were the most musical he had heard.
