BARD will be taken offline for 11 hours on Wednesday, January 18 2023, beginning at Midnight Tuesday night until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, all times Eastern.

NLS will be taking the first step toward provisioning what will be a new and updated BARD experience one day in the future. This Wednesday’s updates will take place in the background exclusively. This means there will for the moment be no front-facing changes to BARD. It does however mean BARD is being updated to allow for the next version of the BARD web site.

On that note, NLS will be looking for volunteers for people who would be interested in beta testing the next version of the BARD web site. Stay tuned for that announcement in the weeks to come.

Patrons participating in the smart speaker project can continue streaming books during Wednesday’s BARD outage. Those same patrons will not however have access to their BARD Wish Lists during the BARD outage.
