The books I've read of his include some of the _Stainless Steel Rat_
series, _Bill the Galactic Hero_, and _Make Room! Make Room!_ (the book
that was adapted into the movie _Soylent Green_). The Rat books I read
were entertaining; therein you can also find some of Harrison's thoughts on
how people will adapt to an increasingly regulated and technologically
advanced society. _Bill_ is probably the best thing I've read by him, very
entertaining and chock-full of pokes at many social institutions. I don't
remember much about _Make Room_, except that its focus was on sheer
overpopulation, rather than cannibalization (as in _Soylent Green_ ).
I've heard good things from friends about _The Deathworld Trilogy_,
_Invasion: Earth_, and the _Eden_ series, though I haven't read them
myself.
Hope this helps,
