Good point, Kris. I forgot about the romance novels. That is curious that
voluptuous women would appear on books generally read by women. Which also
brings up women's magazines. There is always a buxom, pouting, sexy woman on
the cover. I don't get it! There must be something psychological about the
use of beautiful women to advertising products no matter who the target
audience is.
But this is heading off the track a bit. To bring the subject back into the
LIT side of things, do you think science fiction and fantasy is being written
today to stimulate insightful intelligent contemplation of alternate
realities and possibilities or is alot of it being written to cater to what's
popular and what sells (i.e. sex, violence, etc.) with an eye on possibly
becoming a movie someday?
