I'm familiar with Zelazny's character. As I remember, she ends up
destroying the psychologist because of her neurosies, which are
directly caused by her blindness. I did find the dog guide hunting

credit for getting his mistess through life than he diserved. Still, a
driving dog...

As for protrayals of blind people in SF, two that spring immediate;y
to mind are Roger Zelanzny's "He Who Shapes" (expanded into _The
Dream Master_) and Kim Stanley Robinson's "The Blind Geometer,"
which won the Nebula for Best Novella a few years back.
