It depends on the system. We use 090. Fields 050 (LC), 055 (Canadian
versions of LC), and 060 (NLM) use $b for Cutter. Field 082 (DC)
normally does not have Cutter.
Most systems have space or "/" (for new line) before Cutter in the local
call number field. Most I have seen use $a for the whole call number,
$b for location, $c for copies, and $d for volumes.

Yes. Ditto 050, 055, and 060; but 080 (UDC) does not have this
indicator, I suppose because no North American national library assigns
a UDC number.

We use 035 for local keys. You don't want to consider switching to the
standard codes used in 041?
