SUBJECT: Announcing FEDLINK's Newest Vendors-Technical Processing Services

FEDLINK is pleased to announce five vendors offering Technical Processing
Services to FEDLINK members in FY97:

   * CAPCON Library Network
   * Costabile Associates, Inc.
   * Library Systems and Services, Inc.
   * OCLC TechPro Services
   * Telesec Library Services

These vendors will conduct OCLC MARC original cataloging, copy cataloging,
retrospective conversion, and shelf ready physical processing according to
your profile. Under request for quotation, they also offer to meet your
additional requirements, such as cataloging non-print and foreign language
materials.

For a general overview of these new services, please see the August 1996
issue of FEDLINK Technical Notes (Volume 14, Number 8, August 1996, p.5).
Prospective FY97 customers should also review the FEDLINK Member Handbook
(Section 3.6, page II-38) and the FY97 FEDLINK Registration Booklet (pages
23-25).

In addition to these general announcements, all prospective FY'97 users
should plan to attend the all-day Briefing on FEDLINK's New Technical
Processing Services BOA on October 29, 1996. The Briefing thoroughly
describes the new services, itemizes the steps in the individual
competition process, and furnishes each participant with a Technical
Processing Package to initiate FY97 services. The Briefing is offered at no
charge, but registration on the attached announcement/ registration form is
required. After October 29, members beyond the DC area should request a
copy of the Technical Processing Package from FEDLINK Fiscal Operations
(202-707-4900). After November 15, 1996, the FLICC Publications Office
(202) 707-4800 will lend a videotape of the Briefing on a first-come,
first-served basis. If you have questions about Technical Processing
